Paulding County Wind Farm

July, 2011 - Technically this
should be under a Paulding County heading, however, if you stretch
you might be able to see one of the 55 wind turbines located around
Payne. We sent Jim Funderburg down to check out the Timber
Road II Wind Farm just finishing construction by Horizon Wind
Energy. In Mid-July, the 2nd annual Ball Summer Fest will be taking over the Defiance County Fairgrounds. There will be tons of activities jammed into one huge weekend of fun and fundraising for the Ball Foundation. We'll hear all about it! |
| DC Basketball Jamaica Trip - pt. 1 | June-July, 2011 - The Defiance College Basketball Team under the leadership of Coach Kyle Brummet recently went to Jamaica on a mission trip. We will talk to the coach and some of the members of the team about their experience and what life lessons they learned. |

| DC McMaster Program Part 1 |
February, 2011 - Seven Defiance College McMaster Scholars, along with several school officials, put their service learning education into action and shared their knowledge with residents of the Central American country of Belize. On this program, we had the chance to talk with some of them along with their instructor, Mary Ann Studer, about the experience. |

| Sacred Spaces Tour Part 1 |

County Historical Society recently hosted a tour of Sacred Spaces in
Downtown Defiance. We'll visit 6 churches and give you a
visual tour as guided by members of the churches themselves. Also this month, the dedication of the War of 1812 Historical Marker at the Independence Dam State Park and a visual tour of the new Defiance County Senior Center with Rick Small and Tina Hiler. |

September, 2010 - The time has come to replace the Defiance County
grandstand. We visit the County fair and view the grandstand
for the last time before it comes down to make way for a brand new
structure that will be ready for 2011. Also this month, it's the annual Strut Your Mutt event in downtown Defiance. TV26 Contributor David Hoover attended this event and finds out more about the efforts of the Defiance County Humane Society. |
| Buffalo Girl's Powwow part 1 | August, 2010 - On this edition of All Around Defiance County, we'll visit a local Native American Powwow recently held at Buffalo Girl's Farm just outside of Sherwood. We'll talk to Buffalo Girl (aka Judy Keys) and several other organizers about the Powwow and the significance of Native American culture. |
| Evansport 175th - part 1 | June, 2010 - The community of Evansport is getting ready to celebrate a major milestone this summer with their 175th anniversary. We'll hear from the organizers about some of the upcoming plans on this month's program. |
| DC Artists Part 1 | April-May, 2010 - 3 local artists are in the spotlight on this program as we travel to Defiance College to view some of the works in the annual senior art exhibit. We'll speak with Steve Smith, Doug Fiely and Kathy Funderburg about how they got started and their involvement with DC. We'll also take a look at some of the projects on display now through May 8. |
| Danielle's story - Part 1 | April, 2010 - On this program, we'll have the remarkable story of Danielle Tumblin. About a year ago, an otherwise healthy Danielle suffered her first seizure. From there, Danielle along with her mother Susan Dershem and the rest of the family went through an amazing journey of discovery, treatment and two significant brain surgeries within a week's time. Hear about this journey first-hand on our program. This online version contains about 17 minutes of material that we could not include in the broadcast version due to time constraints. |

| 1812 Historical Marker Part 1 | August, 2009 - The war of 1812 will be remembered in Defiance County with an Ohio Historical marker that will eventually be located in the Independence State Dam Park. We'll talk with local historian Richard Rozevink and several others involved in the effort to remember those local casualties from this historic battle. |
| The Ridge Project Part 1 | June-July, 2009 - This program puts the spotlight on the Ridge Project with headquarters in Defiance. In their own words, we'll hear how the Ridge project started and what some of its goals are as they deal with incarcerated adults and spread the word about sexual abstinence through many of the area schools. |

You'll meet Rusty Hoops, Adam Gubernath, Josh Busch, and Rick Small as they all speak with Tom Jeffery about local radio. Also in November, Deb Gilgenbach from the Defiance County Health Department shows us some of the walking trails that have been mapped out all throughout the county. |

| Defiance Elementary update | March, 2008 - Northwest Ohio has greatly benefited from OSFC funds available through the State. This month we have updates from two current building projects in Defiance County. The Defiance School District is building a new Elementary school and the Hicksville Aces will have a new K-12 home by the end of the year. Special thanks to District Superintendents Mike Struble of Defiance and Kevin Miller of Hicksville for showing us around and bringing us up to date. |
